Centre of Buddhist Studies of the Chinese University of Hong Kong

In February 2015, the Sixth Patriarch’s Temple (Liuzu Si) in Guangdong signed an agreement with CUHK to establish the Centre for the Study of Chan Buddhism and Human Civilization under the Department of Cultural and Religious studies in CUHK. The collaboration was set to last for five years. Upon the finish of a five-year contract in 2020, the Centre continued to operate until the retirement of the then Director of the Centre, Dr. Xueyu, in November 2024. With the support of a new donation, the Buddhist Centre was renamed as the Centre of Buddhist Studies of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUCBS).
